Following from an audit by the National Standards Authority of Ireland, Edenderry Power has sucessfully retained its EN 16001 Energy Management accreditation, Edenderry was the first power plant in Ireland to achieve the Energy Standard in January 2010

Attaining accreditation to EN 16001 demonstrates that a company has successfully implemented energy management best practice which is crucial for business success.

Edenderry Power has worked with SEAI as part of the Large Industry Energy Network over the past two years to develop and improve its Efficiency Management Systems.

Achieving EN 16001 accreditation is important target raised in the recent Bord Na Mona Carbon Footprint Survey by the Ecology Foundation and is also consistent with our company objectives as outlined in "New Contract with Nature". The company sees an opportunity to use innovation and technology to achieve energy efficiencies across the complete production cycle. One example is management of the power plant boiler systems to maintain optimum heat transfer capability and achieve ongoing energy-efficiency.
